Tiago Pires da Cruz is a doctoral student at the Centre Émile Durkheim - Science politique et sociologie comparatives (UMR 5116), at Sciences Po Bordeaux.
His work focuses on the government of environmental issues in the ocean and, more specifically, on those associated with the dynamics of deep-sea mining. He is also a member of the "Deep Ocean and Societies" research group of the CNRS Mers et Océan Research Group (GdR OMER) as well as of the SEPIA-ANR "ABYSSES" project, directed by lawyers Sophie Gambardella and Pascale Ricard.
