Biodiversity, Conservation, Ecology and Climate Change.  Biodiversity of the coral reefs’ fauna and seagrass meadows (fishes, invertebrates, macroalgae); health status of coral and sponge communities; competitive and predatory interactions between organisms of coral reefs and other coastal environments such as rocky shores and wetlands. During the last ten years, I have been following a rapid assessment protocol to monitor the evolution of the condition of reef communities in Venezuela. Most of these studies have been done in protected marine areas.
