Activities
Since 1992 my research activity focussed on the study of sedimentary successions on continental shelves and slopes with emphasis on reconstruction of processes of sediment accumulation and deformation; reconstruction of late Quaternary sea level change; coastal studies using historical floods evidences in prodelta environment.; research of sand resources on continental shelf. Participation to EU projets: EUROCORE (european sediment database www.eu-seased.net/eurocore/project_info.htm); BIGSETS (Sources of Earthquake and Tsunami in SW. Iberia); (COSTA (Continental slope stability); EURODELTA (natural and anthropogenic processes affecting Mediterranean prodeltas); EUROSTRATAFORM (source-to-sink sediment transport). Participation to italian projects: SINAPSI (Seasonal INterannual and decAdal variability of the atmosPhere, oceanS and related marine ecosystems); and Marine Geological Mapping (ISPRA-APAT Adriatic basin geological maps 1:250000 and 1:50000 scale). Participation to 20 campaigns at sea in the Mediterranean Sea, and Atlantic Ocean. P.I. in 11 research projects.
