questioning, ensured each member/team listened to the other, considered &
approved tasks that delivered objective, allocated tasks to team members.
§ Estimated
timescale, traded off pragmatism for optimism of the effort required. This is
constantly reviewed, rather than a fixed plan. At best - a known duration on
repeated previous experience, at an individual and collective level, examined
adherence to teams concerned. Principally apportioned speaking time &
order throughout the duration of the meeting.
§ Ensured
team members only worked on one task at a time, and continued to completion,
protected the plan once agreed – not adding more or preclude mid-duration
unless absolutely necessary. Judged case, held power to veto any decision.
§ Planned
gaps between sprints to ease the pressure and allowed the team to recover
before starting again.
§ Managed
5-7 team members of different skills within STEM, allowed team members to
decide for themselves and commit voluntarily. Led the team, and performed
different roles in coordination without obvious leadership.
§ Affirmed
hard deadlines. Discussed recommendations. Focused and motivated the team,
ensured overall timely delivery.
§ Tracked
backlogs. Tasks reviewed and re-prioritised. Sub-divided larger tasks into
manageable tasks. This enhanced likelihood of completion, and enabled agility
in response to change, delivered at pace.
§ Iterations
at short bursts of development activity with a fixed duration of a day, up to
a maximum of one month. Each iteration controlled to last a consistent length
of time, across the whole project. This provided project a sustainable rhythm
and thus made it easier to plan. Activities often overlap and act to
reinforce one another, to be effective.
§ Incorporated
learning and feedback. Result, incorporated new inputs and made changes with
minimal disruption.
