From
the last seven years, I teamed up with the Energy Research Office (EPE) of the
Brazilian Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME). Among my activities, there is the
support of one the main studies of the federal government about the Brazilian
sedimentary basins that identifies and classifies effectively attractive areas
with respect to their hydrocarbon potential based on the play analysis approach
(National Zoning of Oil and Gas Resources - ZNMT in its Portuguese acronym). At
EPE, I also contribute with discussions about the country´s regulatory
framework and do analyses that consider socio-environmental and economic
questions that allow oil and gas production forecasts, estimates for
investments and equipment demand, among others.
Previously,
I worked in the environmental monitoring area of the Angra Nuclear Power Plant,
located in the State of Rio de Janeiro/Brazil. I supported several
meteoceanographic and biological studies that ranged from the measurements of
seawater characteristics to measures for the preservation of the local
biodiversity.
I
also had experience teaching classes on marine phytoplankton ecology at the
Faculty of Oceanography of the Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ).
