Subject Area
Biological Oceanography, Marine Ecology
Activities
I am currently involved in marine biodiversity conservation and ecological monitoring within marine protected areas (MPAs) in southwestern Madagascar. My work includes the use of Baited Remote Underwater Video (BRUV) systems to assess reef fish assemblages, coral reef health, and human impacts on marine ecosystems. I also contribute to socio-economic studies evaluating the effectiveness of MPAs in supporting sustainable artisanal fisheries and improving local livelihoods. My role combines field research, data analysis, and community engagement.
Skills
I have practical experience in marine biodiversity monitoring, including coral reef and fish assemblage assessments using BRUV systems. I am skilled in conducting socio-economic surveys in coastal communities, managing data collection in marine protected areas (MPAs), and supporting community-based conservation initiatives. I also have experience in aquaculture project development and field logistics coordination.
