Activities
Currently serving as a Postdoctoral
Research Fellow at the Unit for Environmental Sciences and Management at
North-West University, I have been actively engaged in conducting comprehensive
socio-ecological research and biodiversity monitoring. My current responsibilities
include managing, curating, processing, and maintaining biodiversity data,
producing scientific papers, and contributing to science-management
engagements. Key responsibilities of my current position include teaching,
training and supervision of postgraduate students in field and laboratory-based
environments, as well as conducting research and publishing in peer reviewed
journals. My commitment to community
engagement is evident through my involvement in social media posts for RSG
"Omgewingspraatjies," as well as various events and clean-up
initiatives focused on water health. I have also contributed to the development
of databases, workshops and training programs. As a member of various societies,
I have also actively participated in the academic community, staying informed

My proficiency extends to various
software packages, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point),
statistical software such as R-studio and Graphpad, and GIS tools like ArcGIS.
I have also undergone specific training, such as the 4x4 Driver Training and Data-management
(presented by SANBI), enhancing my skill set for fieldwork and research
management. In 2023-2024, I contributed scientific illustrations of various
parasitic life cycles (including their hosts) and other data visualizations for
a Springer Nature book, while I also completed an online course in Copy-editing from the University of Cape Town.
