            i.        Participate in fisheries and aquaculture policy research, development and review of policies, laws and regulations for exploitation of fisheries and blue economy resources;

           ii.        Identification of capacity gaps, developing plans for capacity building for sustainable fisheries resources exploitation in the region;

          iii.         Participate in disseminating fisheries and aquaculture policies and strategies;

         iv.        Establishing and sustaining linkages with the development partners and stakeholders in the region;

           v.        Initial action on Statistics and Economic Analysis of the Blue Economy, Fisheries and Aquaculture sectors;

         vi.         Initiating and facilitating the development of funding proposals and mobilizing resources for fisheries and aquaculture in the region;

        vii.         Building rapport and maintaining good relationships and linkages with investors, collaborators, partners and other stakeholders for research, knowledge management and resource mobilization;

       viii.         Promoting research and feasibility studies on Fisheries and aquaculture in the region;

         ix.         Overseeing development, reviewing and validating of concept notes and project proposals in the region;

           x.         Overseeing identification of key priority areas and strategic interventions for fisheries and aquaculture;

         xi.        Identifying key primary areas for interventions of research and partnerships in Fisheries and Aquaculture;

        xii.        Maintaining an up-to-date database of investors, collaborators and other stakeholders in the region;

       xiii.        Initiate capacity building for sustainable exploitation of fisheries and blue economy resources;

      xiv.        Identification of research gaps in fisheries and aquaculture;

        xv.        Promote linkages with County Governments to ensure sustainable fisheries management and development;

      xvi.        Participate in studies, analysis, research, planning, overseeing, monitoring and evaluating the Bottom-up Economic Transformation (BETA) Agenda Projects and other similar projects according to the State Departments strategic plan;

     xvii.        Coordinating preparation of progress reports on fisheries and aquaculture to relevant bodies including the Presidential Delivery Unit (PDU) for the region;

    xviii.        Promote linkages with fisheries management research institutions and organizations in the region;
