Activities
1. Assist with all aspects of fish husbandry including feeding, fish grading, fish
movement, water quality monitoring and fish inventory control.
2. Responsible for field survey, data design, data sample and collection, data analysis,
sample storage, applications of research methodology during ongoing project,
3. Supervise and train laboratory or field experiments to junior aquaculture research
students and assisted in thesis and article writing.
4. Responsible for collection and preparation of seawater for further laboratory
experiments.
5. Conduct and supervise stock examinations to identify diseases or parasites.
6. Culturing of fresh water fishes (Tilapia and carp) as well as marine water fishes
(Seabreams, milkfish and seabass),
7. Chemical handling and preparing graded methanol concentration for further use.
8. Working on the seawater earthen ponds (1.5 hectare) by maintaining and recording
physicochemical properties of the water via scientific tools, oversee aeration
system, fish health and behavior assessment, predator preventing protocol.
9. Responsible to collect and record feed, feed intake ratio and weekly assessment of
fish body growth.
10. Siphoning of laboratory based tanks and cemented ponds,
11. Formulation of dry pelleted feed via pellet machine. Culturing of live feed
(artemia) in a laboratory for carnivore fish species.
12. Follow chemical protocol to prevent diseases in fish and shrimps entity, and
injecting hormones to initiate breeding.
13. Provides technical support for various projects with researchers and other marine
departments.
14. Responsible for further scientific work such as histology of tissue, liver, viscera, and
gonads of fish, dissection of marine samples, examine marine water primary
productivity and manage all assign task from project principle investigator.
15. Weekly collect, record and analyze data.
16. Interpret data analysis results and draw conclusions.
17. Conduct literature reviews, preparing presentations, writing final reports and
occasionally manuscripts for publication.
