Biological Oceanography, Marine Ecology
Activities
My important
research concerns are the macro and micro-level interventions such as the
political and economic contexts of the region, the commitment of the governance
for energy justice and climate actions in terms of policies and response
strategies both at national and regional level.
Skills
With a background in health communication, governance and policy
studies, my research revolves around the policy dynamics of cross-cutting
societal issues, particularly how governments across the world address climate
change impacts, vulnerability and adaptation. My recent studies look into the expanded role of
communication outreach in increasing the ability of local communities to engage
them in advocacy and policy issues related to climate resilience, access to
essential energy and maintaining the local biodiversity.
Comment(s)
My expertise in this area stems from my ability to work on the ground in meaningful ways with partners in government, industry, local communities and NGOs, and to connect that work to influence global policy, market and finance to advance work at scale. My study focuses on Climate and Health Nexus, Climate Change Impacts, Adaptation, Resilience, Governance and Policy. With a background in health communication, governance and policy studies, my research focus is on policy dynamics of cross-cutting societal issues, particularly how governments across the world address climate change impacts, vulnerability and adaptation. My main research areas are critical communication theories, new media in shaping public opinion and behaviour in the context of energy decision-making process, exploring the relationship between media and climate change, understanding the impact of climate change on local ecologies and health communication and governance.
My engagement is in exploring the expanded role of communication outreach in increasing the ability of local communities to engage them in advocacy and policy issues related to climate resilience, access to essential energy and maintaining the local biodiversity. I would like to join the group as I strongly believe that there is a difference in the frequency and coverage of the issue especially energy justice, climate change and health and these differences are prevalent in the context of different regions. The differences are mainly in terms of policies, research and communication and it was observed a global imbalance.
