Activities
With a background in economics and sustainability, I have been providing technical assistance, secretariat/project oversight, and work quality assurance services in the fields of natural resource management, climate change adaptation and mitigation, and sustainable finance, specializing in the coastal and marine sector, in Asia and the Pacific. Previously served as the Secretariat Coordinator of Partnerships in Environmental Management for the Seas of East Asia (PEMSEA) and focal person for sustainable development of coastal and marine resources at the National Economic and Development Authority of the Philippines. Now working as an independent consultant.
Technical assistance:
➤ Conduct of due diligence in formulating/reviewing development interventions such as laws, policies, bilateral relations, investment plans, and project proposals in terms of country priorities, legal compliance, economic and financial viability, institutional arrangements, equitability of resource allocation, and/or environmental sustainability, depending on the needs of the client
➤ Development of knowledge and communication products
➤ Formulation and implementation of projects and monitoring and evaluation systems
Secretariat/project oversight:
➤ Task tracking and regular strategic planning
➤ Refinement of management protocols and streamlining of work procedures
➤ Supervision over stakeholder engagements, research, finances, staff recruitment, procurement of goods and services, travel logistics, documentation, and website and database administration
Work quality assurance:
➤ Review of work operations to ensure compliance with management protocols and the requirements set by funding sources and the international standards on quality management systems
