Kelvin Muli is a dedicated environmental scientist with a strong background in aquatic ecosystem ecology, climate change, and biodiversity conservation. With a BSc in Natural Resource Management, a Master’s degree in Limnology and MA in Women, Children, and Nature Rights in Environmental Governance, he has hands-on experience in field-based sampling, data analysis, and biogeochemical monitoring of freshwater systems. Kelvin’s academic and professional interests lie in understanding ecosystem dynamics, biodiversity assessment, and the impacts of environmental stressors on aquatic habitats.
As a passionate advocate for science-based conservation, Kelvin has contributed to regional and international dialogues on climate and biodiversity, and has worked with communities to promote sustainable environmental practices. His growing interest in molecular tools for ecosystem monitoring has driven his motivation to deepen his knowledge of eDNA applications in marine and freshwater ecosystems.
Kelvin is particularly eager to enhance his capacity in eDNA sampling, laboratory analysis, and bioinformatics to support evidence-based decision-making and conservation strategies across Africa. His participation in the eDNA training will bridge critical knowledge gaps and strengthen his role in advancing environmental research and policy in Kenya and the wider African region.
