Activities
I graduated successfully in Oceanography from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ) and a master's degree in Marine and Coastal Systems at the University of Algarve, Portugal. I was a Scientific Initiation Scholarship from the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development to the Coral Sol Project during the years 2013-2015.
I did an internship at the Laboratory of Physical Oceanography (LOF) at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), at the Alberto Luiz Coimbra Institute for Graduate Studies and Engineering Research (COPPE). At LOF I learned a lot about ocean currents, turbulent mixing processes, mesoscale processes, whirlpools, data analysis, and programming language. During the internship at LOF I was part of the scientific commission of two oceanographic cruises in partnership with the Brazilian Navy.
On the first scientific cruise, I participated in the MOVAR project with the main objective of estimating the heat transport and volume of the Current of Brazil (CB) close to the Vitória-Trindade submarine chain, through a stretch with high density of data collection using XBT equipment. On my second scientific cruise, I was part of the Commission called MCTIC-LEPLAC / 2016 with the aim of collecting environmental data (meteorological, oceanographic and hydrographic) in the Atlantic Ocean region, in order to contribute to the realization of the research projects approved by the Minister of Science, Technology, Innovations and Communications (MCTIC) using oceanographic instruments such as CTD and ROSETTE.
Sea regions of study
North Atlantic Ocean
South Atlantic Ocean
Skills
I have successfully completed several courses on EUMETSAT satellite image processing, a course on aquaculture at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), a professional PADI diving course, and courses in programming languages. I participated actively in several congresses during all years in science and made oral presentations on my scientific works, including oral presentations in Lisbon at the Hydrographic Engineering Day.
