I have been working in the
field of Geospatial Technology Applications for the last four years. I have
experience in application Remote Sensing and GIS in Coastal and Marine
Resources Management, Ocean Colour
Monitoring and Use of Sea DAS software for
ocean data processing, Generation and validation ocean color remote sensing
products, Identification of Potential
Fishing Zones Using Geospatial Technique, Application of Remote Sensing and GIS
in Forestry and Ecology, Water Resources, Integrated Disaster Modeling over GIS
platform. I have working experience of
using various GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, ERDAS, ENVI, SNAP, GRADS (basic), Origin
Pro, Google Earth Engine, Surfer,
Didger, GRASS GIS.
I also have working experience of using other graphic and web design software
and tool such as Adobe Photoshop,
Adobe Illustrator, Notepad++, Sublime text. Besides that I have experience in C, C++, Python, R, MATLAB programming languages.
Presently, I have been working in The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) New Delhi .
Major activities of my present engagement are Forest Biomass Assessment using Multisource Earth Observation Data. In TERI, I am basically handling the RS-GIS activities of various projects of the Land Resources division such as modelling spatial carbon stock and carbon sequestration potential of different LULC classes, Carbon Stock Assessment, Soil Organic Carbon Mapping, developing voluntary carbon market project for Pench Tiger Reserve, Manas Tiger Reserve and Dudhwa National Park.
Previously, I worked in Himachal Regional Centre of G. B. Pant National Institute
of Himalayan Environment as a Senior Researcher under NMHS funded project entitled "Modelling and Forecasting of High Impact
Weather Events in the Beas basin, and Designing a Proto-type Advance Warning
System for Mitigating their Adverse Impacts".
The main objectives of my present work are as follows:
(a) Calibrated forecast configurations with 24-hour
lead time over Beas basin (Himachal Pradesh) with quantitative skill for High
Impact Extreme Weather Events like cloud burst, heavy rainfall, flash flood,
etc.
(b) Development of an advanced warning system over
Himachal Pradesh for mitigating adverse impacts of high weather events.
(DISASTER MODELLING)
(c) Integrated Disaster Assessment and Forecast Platform
over Beas basin (Himachal Pradesh) on GIS platform for mitigating adverse
impacts.
