economic sectors such as artisanal and commercial fishing, sea weed and
mangrove harvesting, harvesting of natural products is ever increasing as more
and more people seek income and livelihood. Marine natural resources provide
food, income, construction materials for the Kenya coastal people. Therefore
with the use of geo information science it will be possible to generate,
integrate, analyze and display spatial data, thus linking population increase
and use of natural resources to the spatial distribution and trend patterns of
marine and coastal natural resources.
