Mr
Akohou is currently in charge of Economic Affairs, Trade and Sustainable Development
at Benin Permanent Mission to African Union in Addis-Abeba. He participated in
various policy-making task
forces and technical committees on maritime safety and security, especially in
the elaboration of National Maritime Strategy for the Protection, Safety and
Security (SNPSSM, 2013).
He has contributed in ASECMAR project, aiming to
strengthen stakeholders’ capacities for an effective state intervention at sea.
Apart from its experience with the United Nations - Nippon Foundation
Fellowship Programme, he participated in the European
Union ‘Critical Maritime Routes Gulf of Guinea – CRIMGO – capacity-building sessions
held at ARSTM Abidjan in 2013 and RMU Accra in 2015.
Mr Akohou authored ‘Benin chapter’ of the book ‘The
Law of the Sea: The African Union and Its Member States, 2017, by Juta Law Publishing
(South Africa).
