Provision of technical advice and consultancy related to city-wide sanitation planning and research in coastal and marine ecosystems and management. Other environmental services include environmental impact assessments and audits (EIAs and EAs), and pollution control and waste management.

Trained in non-sewered sanitation (NSS), with main research on city-wide sanitation program planning involving the selection of sustainable sanitation systems to promote equitable access for the urban poor to safely managed on-site sanitation systems, as well as faecal sludge management in informal urban, peri-urban and rural contexts of low - and middle - income countries.

Combines sanitation and coastal & marine resource management to promote the protection of the marine ecosystems from land-based sources of pollution that often include such sources as poorly managed onsite sanitation systems.
