I am contributing to the research, teaching, and development of the institute with dedication and enthusiasm. I have fifteen years of experience in teaching at the University level, conducting research projects, and developments of Labs and Departments.
Dr. M. Jahangir Khan currently works at Namal University, Mianwali, Pakistan. Previously, he served the Department of Earth & Environmental Sciences, Bahria University Karachi Campus. He taught several courses with expertise in domains of GIS & Remote Sensing applications, Research Methodology, Geophysics, Seismology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Sciences, and Climate Change, these courses were offered to undergraduate and postgraduate classes.
Sixty two (62) research papers in my credit were published in Impact Factor international and national research journals (recognized by HEC). I have utilized several software including ArcGIS (ArcMap, ArcScene, Arc Catalogue, etc) and ERDAS Imagine for GIS-based research projects. I have exposure to international projects including the International Workshop on Marine Geophysical Surveys, held in Beijing and Qingdao, organized by the China Geological Survey. I have conducted several Professional Training Courses/Workshops related to GIS and Satellite Image Processing for students, geophysicists, geologists, surveyors, experts of Oil & Gas exploration companies, environmentalists, and professionals in Karachi and Islamabad. My research interest is in developing Integrated studies for the mapping and modeling of natural resources for their sustainability and impact of geo-environmental hazards in the coastal zone of the Arabian Sea.
