 Assist in developing and implementing marine plans and agreements particularly by providing input and direction related to marine biology, ecology, conservation, marine developments and adaptations to climate change
 Provide support to achieve objectives and implement strategies and commitments identified in marine plans and agreements between CHN, BC, DFO and other parties,
 Identify needs and resources for effective marine plan implementation,
 Develop, review and provide input to workplans and budgets,
 Take a lead role in compiling, managing, analyzing and interpreting biological, fisheries, marine transportation and other data relevant to marine planning and management,
 Take a lead role in reviewing assessments and determining ecological risks, conservation objectives and cumulative impacts of developments,
 Develop and prepare materials, reports, presentations and other materials related to marine issues for a range of audiences,
 Assist in managing projects including providing support and direction to staff, contractors or other individuals and monitoring budgets,
 Take a lead role in development and implementation of an ecosystem based management monitoring system including identification of appropriate indicators, assessment of cumulative impacts
 Supervise and train staff, guardians, volunteers or others as necessary,
 Assist in coordinating marine planning committees or groups including the Haida Marine Work Group, SGaan Kinghlas – Bowie Seamount, marine advisory committees or others as required which may include preparing presentations, organizing meetings, managing logistics, note‐taking and follow‐up,
 Work collaboratively and maintain good working relationships with staff from federal and provincial agencies and First Nations on individual projects and initiatives as required.
 Engage with members of the public, stakeholder groups and support Haida Nation interests as required,
 Participate in science meetings, forums or working groups as required including fisheries and habitat assessment and management processes,
 Assist in preparing and producing communication and outreach materials,
