research students in "Ichthyology," "Fish Population
Dynamics," and "Fisheries Economics" since November 2011. In
June 2022, I completed my PhD at the Laboratory of Fish Population Dynamics,
Ocean University of China. The title of my PhD thesis is "Assessment of
Stocks to Understand Trends of Data-Poor Marine Capture Fisheries of
Bangladesh". During my PhD research, I evaluated the stock status of a
small group of fish and shrimp species (ten fish and two shrimp) from
Bangladesh's maritime waters. These species can be used as indicators species
to understand fisheries trends and evaluate and enhance current management
practices. Finally, based on the results, my research identified the weaknesses
of existing management strategies and concluded with viable recommendations to
improve the management.
