University of Oradea is a public higher education institution in Bihor County, Oradea City, Romania, founded in 1990. The University has 15 faculties, 1,401 employees, of which 917 are teaching staff and over 16,000 students. In 2011, it was classified in the II category, that of universities of education and scientific research, by the Ministry of Education.University of Oradea is an accredited higher education institution, which was awarded the qualification "High degree of confidence" by ARACIS.In 2018, the University of Oradea ranks 722 out of the 3,234 universities examined worldwide in the Scimago Institutions Rankings.In the University Metaranking 2017, it ranks 7th nationally out of the 92 universities existing in Romania to date, being equal to six other universities
