Activities

We establish and manage protected areas, advance strong conservation policies, and engage communities in the protection and stewardship of healthy, thriving oceans, coastlines, and wildlife.
*We protect mangroves and climate-resilient shorelines in California, Mexico, and Cuba through the establishment and management of protected areas, federal zone concessions, Blue Carbon initiatives, outreach, and education.
*We ensure the protection of some of the last undeveloped desert coastline and rugged offshore islands on the Baja California Peninsula. We are protecting more than 9.2 million acres of Wildlands and islands on the Baja California Peninsula through private land conservation, protected area management and federal zone conservation concessions.
*We protect coral reefs in the Mexican Pacific and Cuba through mooring infrastructure, monitoring, implementing
federal zone concessions, training, and community outreach.
*We protect ocean wilderness off the coast of the Californias through protected area management, monitoring, outreach, and public engagement.
*We protect sea turtle nesting beaches in the Mexican Pacific through federal zone concessions, monitoring, scarab beetle control, and community outreach and engagement.
*We protect gray whale habitat through federal zone concessions, easements, education, and outreach.
