Activities
Paul J. Gaughan has responsibility for the
co-ordination of key research projects utilizing the Marine Institutes infrastructure and actively works with
industrial and academic users of the infrastructure in the operational deployment
of their technology. Paul received his MSc in Applied Geophysics from the
National University of Ireland. He worked in the offshore Oil industry as a logging and drilling fluids engineer. In
his previous role as a software developer he was involved in developing a range
of marine data acquisition and visualisation systems . Paul is actively
involved with t of the Galway Bay cable project and the setting up and
development of Irelands National test bed for advanced Marine Technologies -
SmartBay.
