Main researches are concentrated on two aspects. One is attempting to identify reproduction-, growth- and immune--related genes, and therefore to reveal regulative mechanism on fish gynogenesis and oogenesis, to investigate temporal and spatial control of gene expression in fish early embryogenesis, and to identify disease-resistant genes in fish. The other is looking forward to molecular markers for discriminating different populations or strains, and is trying to apply them to the studies on ecological genetics and selective breeding in aquaculture animals. In addition, the group is devoted to cell engineering technology in fish.
