My research mainly focusses on, 1) using isotopes of nitrate, dissolved organic nitrogen, amines, chlorophylls, porphyrins and other N-containing molecules to trace the nitrogen cycling processes in marine systems, including estuaries, coastal, oxygen minimum zone, pelagic sea and trenches; 2) studying the metabolization of organic amines, sulphur by microbes in deep sea with the assistance of isotope label technique and genomic/transcriptomic analysis; 3) studying the metabolization of nitrogen in giant algae, i.e. Kelp, Ulva Prolifera, and the environmental impacts via isotope-enriched culturing and genomic/transcriptomic analysis；4）high throughput separation and enrichment of DOM in marine environment, characterization techniques development.
