Thesis Theme:
The Study of The Vulnerability of Coastal Zones: Evolution of The Coastline, Sedimentary Balances and Assessment of Risk Zones on The Coast of The Bay of Bou Ismail Algiers, Algeria.
The vulnerability of coastal areas, accentuated by natural hazards such as erosion and submersion, as well as anthropogenic pressures, is a major concern. Our study focuses on Bou-Ismail Bay, with its rocky coastline, diverse beaches and high population density. In response to these challenges, our work aims to provide factual data on the evolution of the coastline, a sediment balance, and an assessment of areas at risk. This information is essential for guiding the authorities' decisions in the face of the consequences of climate change. Despite the region's tourist appeal, the lack of chronological data on coastal processes is an obstacle to decision-making, underlining the importance of our research.
