Activities
Undertaking site visits and inspections to areas that require advice, comments, and inputs on spatial planning requirements and implications, including supporting the Environmental Impact Assessments and Off-Road Vehicle sections.
• Producing Off-Road Vehicle permits for disabled people,
• Undertaking site visits and producing site inspection reports.
• Dealing with Marine Living Resources permit applications and producing those permits.
• Providing comments on EIAs and Coastal Vulnerability Assessment.
• Attending workshops and forums regarding the integration of spatial planning instruments in the Integrated Coastal Management Act with the Spatial Planning and Land Use Management Act instruments such as SDFs and Land Use Schemes for effective implementation of coastal sustainable development.
• Assisting with the facilitation and mainstreaming of coastal spatial planning instruments within Municipal Integrated Development Plans (IDPs) and Local Economic Development Plans of coastal municipalities.
• Assisting with the coordination of the Branch Oceans and Coasts plans for incorporation into the Local Government Support programs through the South African Local Government Associated (SALGA).
• Populating registers and Agendas for stakeholder meetings.
• Participating in coastal management education and awareness programs.
