Activities
The Pan African Vision for the
Environment (PAVE) is a Lagos based non profit, non-political,
non-governmental organization established with the aim of promoting sustainable
development through research, documentation, policy dialogues, workshops,
advocacy and consultancy services. PAVE deals with development issues in their
environmental and socio-economic aspects with emphasis on the attainment of the
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) targets regarding water and sanitation and
other related human settlement issues including Agricultural Value Chain
promotion, Gender, Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Climate change, Ocean and
Clean Energy promotion, Waste Management including E-Waste and Chemical
Management and Stakeholder Engagement. PAVE is registered (IT/NO:
26029) with the Corporate Affairs Commission in Nigeria. The chosen
mission of PAVE is to act as a catalyst, mobilize, mediate and act directly in
several of society’s processes dealing with the improvement of quality of life
and respect for cultural and biological diversity. As its basis, PAVE believes
in promoting good governance at all level, across all sectors, be it public or
private. PAVE also believes in a democratic system for managing human
interests.
The fundamental objective of PAVE
is to act, support and collaborate in the elaboration and dissemination of new
approaches, policies and activities related to human development questions.
We have over 15years experience in
the development sector and work at the local, national, regional and
international level. We have presented papers conducted researches and
organized capacity building workshops on various sustainable development
thematic areas in Africa, Asia, Europe and North and South America.

The Lagos Water Sector Reform Monitoring which
was aimed at monitoring the Lagos State Private Sector Participation (PSP) in
the water privatization exercise under the World Bank assisted US$220 Million
Second National Urban Water Reform
Project. 2005/2006 . This project facilitated CSOs participation resulting in
the adoption of the Citizen feedback Mechanism in the project.
Anglophone West Africa GWA Regional Strategic
Planning Workshop, 3-6 October 2007. This agreement is made between the Gender
and Water Alliance Secretariat in Dieren, the Netherlands, herein after
referred to as the GWA and the NGO Pan African Vision for the Environment in
Lagos, hereafter referred to as the PAVE. This contract pertains to the
contribution of PAVE regarding the organization and implementation of a
regional Anglophone West Africa GWA Workshop for planning a regional programme
on Mainstreaming Gender in Integrated Water Resources Management.
I was part of a team of consultants that
supported the Osun State Ministry of Water Resources and Rural Development to
develop a State Water Supply and Sanitation Policy and to carry out
Organizational, Technical, Financial and Commercial Reviews of Osun State Water
Corporation including PSP assessment in 2008, under the Osun State Technical
Unit of the European Union and UNICEF supported Water Supply and Sanitation
Sector Reform Programme (EU-WSSSRP).
UNDP/GEF funded Nigerian Africa Stockpiles
Programme Implementation Network (NASPIN)/ Pan- African Vision For The Environment
(PAVE) research project on Community action to reduce the Pollution load of
POPs and Other Toxic Effluents (PTS) into Lagos Lagoon, Lagos State which seeks
to generate global and national environmental benefits by effective management
of POPs in the Lagos Lagoon through engagement with communities and businesses.

Hosting and coordinating Research
collaboration with the Faculty and Graduate Students from the Department of
City and Regional Planning at the University of California, Berkeley in the USA
to investigate new strategies to explore how the human rights to water and
sanitation can be successfully realized in Nigeria using Lagos as a Case Study.
Using the access criteria delineated by the United Nations Special Rapporteur
on the human rights to water and sanitation, we created and piloted a mobile
phone survey application for local community members, aid organizations and
officials to collect and monitor data on water and sanitation conditions in
urban Lagos. In addition, we carried out participatory mapping activities with
community members to identify environmental barriers that impact access to safe
water. July, 2015.

contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals, through a case study on
Shell in Nigeria. August, 2015.
The UNEP Secretariat invited PAVE to a
three-day meeting of the Advisory Group for the United Nations Environment
Assembly (UNEA-2) Second study on marine plastic debris and microplastics of
which we are a member representing the Gender and Water Alliance (GWA) in the
Netherlands. The meeting was held from 8 to 10 December 2015, at UNEP
headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya,
