Activities
A research student looking into marine biogeography of invertebrates on the east coast of Australia. My research focuses on species distribution and the structure of biological provinces on the coastlines, studying how they change over time and differ between taxa. My research up to date has focused on molluscan groups and has been purely based on museum collections. I have planned extensive fieldwork to update this and monitor changes between sites due to human intervention.
Skills
I work daily using R, with a range of skills covering geometric morphometrics, macroecology and ordinations, phylogenetic analysis and data cleaning protocols. I have written several unpublished functions to aid my research. I have used perl and python in the past as a beginner.
I am well versed in several specialist software packages for both CT reconstruction (Amira and SPIERS) and genetic pipelines (Geneious).
I studied as a geologist and retain field skills in terrestrial geology, as well as freshwater invertebrate collection. I am well versed in science communication, having taught at all age and skill levels, and have both spoken my research and given

As of 2018 I have completed two MRes courses; one at Imperial College London in Biosystematics and one at Macquarie University in Biological Sciences. The latter was funded by a doctoral training scholarship from the university, and has led onto a PhD.
